Judgment Day

Marvel not at this for the hour is coming...

In Matthew Chapter 7, Jesus taught that those who judge others as the Pharisees did will be judged in that same manner by God. Consequently, many who labor in his name will learn on Judgment Day that all of their wonderful religious works were evil. Therefore, Jesus said, all things whatsoever you would that men should do to you, do even so unto them: for this is the law and the prophets. In other words, we must live by the Royal Law if we are to be prepared to meet God.

Paul wrote to the Corinthians who excelled in many wonderful and miraculous works in the name of Christ but judged one another without love: Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as a sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could move mountains, and have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long, and is kind, love envies not, love vaunts not itself, is not puffed up, does not behave itself unseemly, seeks not its own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil, rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.1

While Christ said he will reject pious religious people who judge in his name, he will receive many whom the pious have judged as sinners.2 To those who enter his kingdom, he will say: For I was hungered, and you gave me meat; I was thirsty, and you gave me drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in; naked and you clothed me; I was sick, and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see you hungry, and fed you? Or thirsty, and gave you drink? … a stranger, and took you in? or naked, and clothed you… or sick, or in prison, and came unto you? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.
